I’m still not sure I should trust them totally. The goblins in Eorzea are much more kind than the ones in Vana'diel. I was taken here by a quest from the Fisherman’s Guild, I was told to fish here during the night time so I could catch Fullmoon Sardines for a goblin in need. My fisher is currently Lv 33 so I adventured to Eastern La Noscea and waded in the crisp waters of Costa Del Sol and North Bloodshore. We worked really hard to save up the gil for it and quite frankly, I wanted a break from crafting.

Ipsen Castle, my Free Company just purchased a house. It is a job that forces you to go explore, which is what I find fun about it. The function of the Fishing Log, and Record Keeping gives it a nice challenge on a personal level.

It was one of my favorites in Final Fantasy XI and I have come to like it a lot in Final Fantasy XIV. I’ve always found fishing to be a relaxing and fun side craft to do.

  • From there I went to the East Shroud and vowed to complete the 5 locations for night 1. The easiest fishing log entries ever, but surprisingly I didn’t have it completed. I figured it would be a great way to see all of the nooks and crannies of Eorzea and really have a fun, low key adventure rather than smashing Coil all the damn time.įirst stop was Gridania. I wanted to do so without any online guide. I figured I could get the majority of my Luminary done by completing my fishing log. It has no other purpose than to be giant, gold, and show you spend WAY too much time fishing. SO! My next endeavor is to get my Luminary Rod for fishing. With Halcyon Rod in hand, I set out to snag the highest level bait available to me for each of the water types: Ocean, River, Lake, Multi Purpose, and bait for specific events like Raincallers. It was a great feeling and my lovely friend from my FC crafted me some High Quality fishing gear.

I could find and headed back out.Īfter a while I finally got the fish…and guess what… Since this was in the middle of the log I figure it’s around Lv16. The fishing spot was Lv.20 but the majority of the fish were around 15 to 17. In Gridania I look through my lower level bait trying to see what I had and if any of the bait would give me a clue as to the type of fish. What are you, mystery fish?! WHERE ARE YOU? So I decided to take a trip back to Gridania, sell the fish I had already caught and come up with a plan to finish up this part of the log! So I figure my high level lures and baits don’t work. I hope there is some expansion later on that incorporates it. The Sanctum glows at night and makes everything around it so beautiful. And I catch NOTHING NEW!Įven though I was getting quite frustrated I did enjoy the scenery. I try big fish lure, maybe there are some bass or trout floating around. But why no new catches? So I try a new bait. There isn’t an apparent stream or brook flowing through. I tried “lake” type bait first since the water is pretty still. Stand in the beautiful water, test out some different bait. I was not planned for the frustration ahead…that’s for sure. It’s also FREAKING SWEET! I remembered it being partially submerged in water so I zipped on over there on Hector, my chocobo. I stumbled upon it in younger levels and haven’t found any real purpose for the building yet other than a shrine and the potential location for some kind of expansion. I knew up in the northern part of the East Shroud there was the Sanctum of the Twelve. After spending some time on the docks of the East Shroud, and completing all of my log for that location, I had to decide where to go next.
